Navy.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Smith was born on Aug. 29, 1920 in Amy, Kansas. He married Esther North on Feb. 8, 1941 in Dighton, Kansas. She preceded him in death in 1993. He was a self-employed painter for 60 and had lived in Pampa since 1956. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy during World War II, serving as a gunner's mate.SURVIVORS: 1 son: Kenneth L. Smith of Pampa; 1 sister: Estelene Child of Colorado Springs, CO; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
