SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, March 3, 2008, at the First Christian Church in Pampa with Rev. Barry Loving, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Edgar Funeral Home of Marble Falls and Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Hopkins was born on Jan. 12, 1926 in Chickasha, OK to J. W. and Viola Weldon Hopkins, and he was a 1944 graduate of Pampa High School. J. C. served as a staff sergeant and ball turret gunner in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He flew 37 missions over Germany earning 3 Bronze Stars and other honors. He married Pattye Louise Hollingshead on Jan. 6, 1946 in Pampa. In 1955, J. C. became co-owner of Roberta's Flowers in Pampa, and he was a longtime member and elder of First Christian Church. He retired in 1992 after 37 years as a florist and moved to Marble Falls where he was a member of the Church at Horseshoe Bay. J. C. was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David Hopkins, a sister, Billie Jo Jeffers, and two brothers, Richard Hopkins and Jerry Hopkins.SURVIVORS: Wife: Pattye Hopkins of Marble Falls; 1 son: Eddy Dean Hopkins and wife Nola of Kingsland; 1 sister: Amalie Mowrey of Knoxville, TN; 2 grandchildren: Angela Asbill and husband Roman and Heather Hopkins; and by 3 great grandchildren.
