BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Cochran was born June 17, 1915 in Marion County, Alabama. He married Opal Winegeart on November 13, 1938 in Memphis, Texas. She preceded him in death on January 22, 2008. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1959. Lester worked for Curtis Well Service as a mechanic, retiring in 1981 after 20 years of service. He was a Baptist. He coached baseball for many years at the Pampa Optimist Club.SURVIVORS: 6 sons: Dexter Cochran and wife Betty of White Deer, Mar Cochran and wife Betty, Ted Cochran and wife Lea Ann, Ed Cochran and wife Patty, and Kirby Cochran and wife Rita, all of Pampa, and Danny Cochran of the home; 3 daughters: Carolyn Nelson and husband Van of Nacogdoches, LaGwenda Walker and husband Gary and Lesa Greer and husband Jene, all of Pampa; 2 sisters: Betty Jean Dunn and husband Elvoy of Amarillo and Dorothy Alexander of Abilene; 1 brother: Thomas Jefferson Cochran, Jr., of Lubbock; 24 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 great-grandchildren: Justin Graves, Tyler Johnson and Bailey Brame.The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Bob Lindsey with Odyssey Hospice and T. V.
