She came to Pampa in 1939 from Paducah. She married Robert Lee Carter on Jan. 17, 1959 in Lubbock. He preceded her in death in 1970. Bertha was a former member of Macedonia Baptist Church and was a current member of Highland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, by 2 sisters, Annie Ivy and Dorothy Dinkins, and by 2 brothers, Johnnie Woods and Bennie Brown.SURVIVORS: 3 stepsons: Bobbie Carter of Dallas, Don Carter of Sacramento, CA, and Eddie Lee Carter of Chattanooga, TN; and by several nieces and nephews.MEMORIALS: Annie Ivy Ministry, P.
