Parker, chaplain of Odyssey Hospice of Amarillo, officiating.BURIAL: Private burial in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Godwin was born November 27, 1912 in Shepherdstown, West Virginia to George and Mary Legar Ewell. Her childhood homes were from Mt. Olive, North Carolina to New York. She married Sam Godwin of Dallas, Texas on October 6, 1940 in Los Angeles, California. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1972 and was a member of Briarwood Church. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, passing on to her children a strong Christian foundation. Her special ministry was prayer. Her special talent was cooking. Grace loved to laugh and have fun. She served as a minister's wife and also as a minister of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel.SURVIVORS: Husband: Sam Godwin of the home; two daughters: Carol Baumann of Amarillo and Joyce Moran of Pampa; one son: Dennis Godwin of Pampa; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Grace was preceded in death by her parents: George and Mary Ewell; two brothers: Norris Ewell and Jesse Ewell; and a great-grandson: Noah Charles Anderson.
