SERVICES: 10:00 AM Thursday, February 7, 2008, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Richard Bartel, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Troy was born August 13, 1920 in Dougherty, Oklahoma. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1934. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the 634th Tank Destroyer Division during World War II, and was discharged as a corporal. He married Jean Rhoden on February 1, 1951 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Troy worked as a boilermaker for Vaughn & Taylor for 35 years and worked for Nelson-Sikes Pipeline for 15 years. He was a member of the Boilermakers Local #531 in Amarillo, and was a past member of the Pampa Moose Lodge. Troy was a Baptist.SURVIVORS: Wife: Jean Bennett of the home; 3 daughters: Debbie Farrar & husband Larry of Southlake, Denise Pfutzenreuter & husband Howard of Austin, and Darla Hoskins and companion Scott Travis of Rockdale; 1 brother: Jimmy Bennett of Northglenn, Colorado; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. Troy was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin King in 1994; 4 sisters: Lillian B. Owens, Evadean Herring, Nadean Morse and Bobbe Jo Moore; and 3 brothers: twin brother Roy C. Bennett, Boyd L. Bennett and William Bennett.MEMORIALS; In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Hospice of the Southwest, 1301 S. Coulter, Suite 404, Amarillo, Texas 79106, or a favorite charity.
