SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, February 8, 2008, at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel in Tucumcari, New Mexico, with Pastor Wes Stewart of the Temple Baptist Church of Tucumcari, officiating. Memorial arrangements are under the direction of Dunn Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Potter was born November 13, 1924 in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico, graduating from Ft. Sumner High School in 1943. He married Mary E. Byars in Ft. Sumner in 1943. In 1944, he moved to Fort Worth, Texas where he worked in an aircraft plant until moving to Tucumcari, New Mexico in 1945, where he worked as a mechanic and was a partner in an automobile shop until 1975. He later worked at Southwest Motors until retiring in 1990. Bill was a life member of BPOE 1172 with 44 + years, a charter member of Troop 21 New Mexico Mounted Patrol where he served as troop commander and served a term as district captain of the Northeast District. SURVIVORS: Wife: Mary Potter of the home; daughter: Carol Brown and husband Fred of Pampa; son: Terry Potter and wife Sue of Clovis, New Mexico; 2 granddaughters: Sandra Philley and husband Lane of Canyon and Rene Gisi and husband Steven of Ipswich, South Dakota; grandson: Tim Potter and wife Tommie of Canyon; 3 great-grandchildren.MEMORIALS: to a favorite charity
