Doug DuBose and Butch Shepherd, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Myatt was born June 7, 1919 at Konowa, Oklahoma, to Cecil and Hattie Myatt. He was a 1936 graduate of Pampa High School. He married Rose LaNelle Williams on Dec. 25, 1939 in Pampa. Ed was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving in China from 1942-1950, and he was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He and his family returned to Pampa in 1950 and he went into business with his father as co-owner of Friendly Men's Wear until 1957. Ed spent the next 37 years primarily in the oil and gas industry as an investor and producer. He was awarded a lifetime membership in the American Petroleum Institute (A.P.I.) Pampa Branch. He was a past president of the Pampa Chamber of Commerce, a city commissioner of Ward 1 for two years, and Mayor of Pampa for two years from 1958-1960. He participated in the following projects and improvements in Pampa: the Pampa Youth and Community Center project, the Coronado Inn Hotel, the improvement of Highway 70 and the building of the Hobart Street underpass. Ed was the chairman of the drive to provide the permanent home for the Chamber of Commerce. Ed was a member and served on the Board of Directors of the Pampa Lions Club. He thoroughly enjoyed the game of golf, and he served as State secretary and treasurer of the Texas Association of Left-handed Golfers. He was also a member of the Tri-State Golf Association for many years. He was a member of the Pampa Country Club for more than 50 years, serving nine years on the Board of Directors.Ed had been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1933 and was a member of the Everyman's Bible Class for over 50 years. The family would like to express their thanks to all of the family and close friends who have assisted during Ed's lengthy illness, particularly Sandy and Leonard Warren and Ed's sister, Betty Bohlander. They would also like to thank BSA Hospice for all of the help and support they have given.SURVIVORS: Wife: Rose (Rosie) Myatt of the home; 2 daughters: Marilyn Cook and husband Bo of Houston and Martha Cunningham and husband Pete of Waxahachie; 2 grandchildren: Chris Cunningham and wife Joanna of Waxahachie, and Eric Cunningham of Dallas; 3 sisters: Betty Bohlander of Pampa, Jenny Ralls and Norma Healy and husband Frank, all of San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his mother Hattie Myatt in 1969 and his father Cecil Myatt in 1997 and by 2 sisters, June Kelp and Mary Myatt. MEMORIALS: American Heart Association, 6605 W.
