SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM Monday, January 7, 2008, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Dr. Johnny Funderburg, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Howard was born September 8, 1921 in Maysville, Oklahoma. She came to Pampa in 1953 from Midland. She married Jack Roy Howard on September 3, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1992. Leny was a longtime member of the Home Demonstration Club and the Pampa Garden Club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Jane Steele and husband Richard of Pampa, and Jackie Hess and husband Gene of Littleton, Colorado; 2 granddaughters: Ellen Steele Wedemeyer and husband Drew of Fort Worth, and Renae Hess Freiberg and husband Shawn of Denver, Colorado; 1 grandson: Jason R. Hess and wife Stacy of Benton, Louisiana; 5 great-grandchildren: Brianna, Trever and Jackson Freiberg of Denver, Colorado, Cooper Hess of Benton, Louisiana, and Joshua Wedemeyer of Fort Worth.
