SERVICES: 2:00 PM Monday, November 12, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Jerry Lane, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church of Borger, and Judge Phil Vanderpool, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Harris was born September 1, 1928 in Lockney, Texas, and had been a resident of Pampa since 1952. He married Betty Williams on March 8, 1947 in Amarillo. Bill was in the car business for 52 years and was associated with Country Chevrolet in Borger for the past several years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he and Betty taught Sunday School for the 2-year old children for over 43 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard. He dearly loved his family, friends and the Pampa Harvesters. He was a well respected community leader, a devoted husband and a truly wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. Bill was past president of the Harvester Booster Club and seldom missed a Harvester home game. Bill's dedication to his wife, family and his church was truly an inspiration. He led his family by example and we will miss him. He is with his Lord and Savior and we are grateful for all he taught us and for each day we enjoyed with him. He would remind us to work hard and pray for each other. He would have us to remember that life means all that it ever meant and that it is truly the same as it ever was. He would want our family to remain strong and to pray for and be kind to each other and all those we meet. We will always go forward with strength and confidence because of him.
