SERVICES: 10:00 AM Thursday, October 11, 2007, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, Texas, with Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Full Gospel Church in Pampa, and Rev. Willard Teague, officiating. BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Cook was born on August 15, 1926 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Effie & James Cook. He had been a longtime resident of Skellytown until he moved to Mathis in 2002. He married Oweta Lou Mills on July 5, 1946 in Skellytown. He was a longtime employee of Skelly/Getty/Texaco, retiring in 1986.SURVIVORS: His beloved wife of 61 years: Oweta Cook of the home. 1 Daughter: Beverly Ross & husband Mike of Mathis. 2 Sons: Gary Cook & wife Sandy of Pflugerville, and Dennis Cook & wife Cindy of Borger. 1 Sister: Dean Elliot of Lodi, California. Grandchildren: Glenn and LaDonna Cook, Bryan and Kevin Ross, Cathleen Martinez, Nathan, Charissa, Caleb and Aaron Cook. 1 Great-Grandson: Keylan Cook. 2 Great-Granddaughters: Dezarae and Alexis Martinez. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, James Cook, Charlie Cook and Truman (Pete) Cook, and 4 sisters, Ruby Burgett, Lois Andrews, Irene Barnett, and Zella Mallo.
