Ken Carter, officiating.BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 4:00 PM Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at the Covington Cemetery in Covington, Oklahoma, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Mercer was born December 17, 1919 in Hayward, Oklahoma, to Raymond and Mary Stratton, and she was reared on a farm. She married Clyde Wesley Mercer on January 9, 1939, and they had two children. Frances was a school teacher in the White Deer-Skellytown school district and also taught at Clarendon Junior College. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Pampa Book Club. Although small in stature, Frances embraced life in a big way. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde; her son Tommy Ray Mercer; her sister Nadeane Vick; and her son-in-law Jerry Dean Mills. Survivors include her daughter: Sandra Kay Mills of Perryton; three grandchildren: Tomi Kay Repass of Arlington, Kelly Wade Mills of Austin, and Mark Wesley Mercer of Atlanta, Georgia; four great-grandchildren: Jeri Kaye Mills, Haley Paige Mills and Casey Jane Mills, all of Austin, and Wesley Ellis Mercer of Childress.
