SERVICES: 3:00 PM Monday, Aug 6, 2007, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Butch Shepherd officiating.BURIAL: Fairview CemeteryBIOGRAPHY: Mrs. West was born on Jan. 10, 1927 in Erick, Oklahoma, and she came to Pampa in 1946 from Shamrock. She married Wilburn S. "Walt" West on Aug. 13, 1943 in Sayre, Oklahoma. During World War II, Willie worked in a munitions assembly plant in Kansas. She was known locally for her famous cinnamon rolls and beautiful flower garden. Charles Goodnight's sister, Sara, was Willie's great grandmother. She spent many years caring for the sick and elderly as a practical nurse. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Pampa Chapter #65 Order of the Eastern Star, and the VFW Women's Auxiliary.SURVIVORS: Husband: Wilburn S. "Walt" West of the home; 2 sons: Bill M. West and wife Mary of Pampa and Harry F. West and wife Nicki of Wheeler; 2 daughters: Linda West of Florence, CO and Carolyn Zillmer and husband Joe of Amarillo; a brother, Richard, of Lubbock; a sister, Eva, of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters and by her parents, Joe Willie and Ruby Lillian Lamm.MEMORIALS: May be made to a favorite charity.
