SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 26, 2007, at the Bangs Cemetery in Bangs, Texas, with Dr. Rick Davis, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Brownwood, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Fletcher was born November 22, 1925 in Santa Anna. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He had been a resident of Pampa for over 40 years. Shortly after the war, he went to work for Southwestern Bell, retiring in 1980 after 37 years of service. He also worked in the cattle business for a number of years. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church, and was a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneer Club. His passion was the outdoors. Upon his death, he wished to convey his appreciation to the community for such a good life he lived here in Pampa.SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Charlie Fletcher of Baytown. 1 Daughter: Charlene Steadman of Arlington. 3 Grandsons: Richard Williams of Hasco, Pat Steadman of Arlington, and David Fletcher of Midland. 2 Granddaughters: Kimberly Dowling and Angela Fletcher, both of Midland. 10 Great-Grandchildren.MEMORIALS: Southwestern Bell Pioneer Club or a favorite charity.
