Army at Fort Hood, Texas.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Jeter was born February 7, 1912 in Hall Co., Texas. He married Tommie Lee Close on December 20, 1947 in Amarillo, and she preceded him in death in 1963. He lived in Chickasha, Oklahoma for several years, also attending schools there. He moved to Pampa in 1929 and has been a resident ever since. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corps serving during WWII. He later started his own home building company, and he retired after 50 years. He was one of the 1st 35 charter members of the Pampa Optimist Club where he helped build the original ball parks. He loved to garden, fish and take long walks. He will be missed by his family and friends.SURVIVORS: 1 nephew: Russell Jeter of Seattle, Washington; 2 great nephews: James Jeter and wife Alicia of Pampa and Ben Jeter of Denton, Texas; 2 great nieces: Carla Jeter-Smith of Pampa and Leslie Jeter of Canyon; 1 great-great nephew: Daniel Smith of Pampa; 6 great-great nieces: Heather Balay of Amarillo, Brittany Balay, Layce Smith, Julie Alonzo and husband Jimmy, Kayla Jeter and Allyson Jeter all of Pampa; lifelong friend, Bill Thornton of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mildred O'Rear, Inez Duke, and Meryle Reed, by 2 brothers, Calvin Jeter and Aubrey Jeter, and by a nephew, Carl Jeter.MEMORIALS: Pampa Optimist Club, P.O.
