SERVICES: 10:00 AM Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Pastor Johnny Crawford, former pastor of the Briscoe Community Church, officiating.BURIAL: Mobeetie Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Newman was born March 22, 1917 in Sequayah County, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army for seven years, and was honorably discharged on November 15, 1948. He married Elisabeth Klara Bauer on October 15, 1948 in Bremen, Germany. He had been a resident of Old Mobeetie since 1968. He attended the Briscoe Community Church. He was self-employed. SURVIVORS: His wife of 59 years, Elisabeth Newman of the home. 6 Children: Nancy Craig & husband Orville of Pampa, Shirley Wadley & husband Jody of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Robert Newman & wife Cindy of Amarillo, Bill Newman & wife Sherri of Elk City, Oklahoma, Martha Gardner & husband Terry of Allison, and Pat Newman & wife Marletta of Farmington, New Mexico. 18 Grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren. 1 Sister: Linda Baker of Madera, California.
