SERVICES: At her request, Mrs. McLaughlin donated her body to the University of Texas School of Medicine Research Center in Houston. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Fairdale Baptist Church in Fairdale, Texas with Rev. Forest L. "Bo" Owens, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Carnes Funeral Home of Texas City.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. McLaughlin was born Feb. 10, 1926 in Durant, Oklahoma. She graduated from Durant High School and received her RN from the Dallas School of Nursing. She resided in Pampa from 1950 until 1976 where she was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a school nurse with the Lefors, McLean, Grandview, and Cisco ISDs. She married Don McLaughlin on May 1, 1976. Mrs. McLaughlin was a member of Fairdale Baptist Church in Fairdale. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Smith Boyce (Bob) Sypert, DDS, in 1964.SURVIVORS: Husband: Don B. McLaughlin of Hemphill; 2 sons: Steve Sypert and wife Barbara and Rick Sypert and wife Cathy, all of Lubbock; a stepdaughter: Amber Gill and husband Ray of Enid, OK; 2 stepsons: Kelly McLaughlin and wife Kelly of Baird and Toby McLaughlin and wife Cathy of Conroe; a sister: Pat Jermyn of Fort Worth; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
