Albert Maggard, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Fleming was born August 5, 1916 in Commerce to Amy & Jasper Stokes. The family moved to Pampa in the 1920's and Faye graduated from Pampa High School in 1933. She was devoted to her church, the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Pampa, which she joined as a child, making her the longest serving member of the congregation.She was married to Charles Fleming for 56 years. Charles worked for R. G. "Dick" Hughes, a Pampa based homebuilder for many years. Although Faye and Charles lived in Borger, Wichita Falls and Arlington while Charles and the Hughes Company built over 15,000 houses throughout Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico, they always considered Pampa their home. Faye always said, "I just breathe better here." She was preceded in death by her husband Charles and her son James.Faye is survived by her son John Charles Fleming and his wife Jenny of Austin, grandchildren Heather Fleming Blocker and Jessica Fleming Brantley of Austin; Ruth Fleming Kent of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Bennie Pfeil of Amarillo; a niece to whom Faye was a second mother; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. Faye's legacy to her children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews is her devotion to God and family, love of learning and perseverance in adversity.
