Army, Ft. Hood, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Belt was born July 15, 1947 in Amarillo, to Harle & Edna Belt. He was the third of five children. He graduated high school in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and later served his country in the U. S. Army as a medic in South Korea during the Vietnam War. He married Karen Sue Stanton on January 1, 1970 in Lefors. He worked for Texaco for 28 years while raising two daughters, Kyla and Anna. During that time, he traveled to Angola, Africa to work on an off-shore oil rig. After retiring from the oilfield, he drove a milk truck for a short time before dedicating himself to his family and grandchildren. Harlen was a man who enjoyed living life. He was an avid fisherman who taught his daughters and a grandson the joys of fishing. He was a Christian by choice and lived with God in his life and was always willing to share his faith with anyone wanting to listen. He was a son, brother, faithful husband, loving father, and dedicated grandfather who enjoyed playing with his children. SURVIVORS: 2 Daughters: Kyla Andres & husband Lance of Pampa and Anna Johnson & husband Shane of Lefors. 3 beloved grandsons, Dusty Johnson, Andrew Laury and Jason Andres, and 1 precious granddaughter, Ashlyn Johnson. He is also survived by his mother, Edna Belt of Pampa; 2 sisters, Dolly Watts of Gadsden, AL, and Vickie Tippit & husband Billy of Plattsburg, MO; 2 brothers, Stanley Belt & wife Sandy of Pampa, and Randy Belt & wife Collette of Rancho Madera, CA. The numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends are too many to be mentioned. He was preceded in death by his father, Harle Belt, and the love of his life, Karen.
