SERVICES: 2:00 PM Monday, April 9, 2007, at the United Methodist Church of White Deer with Rev. Pam Lehman, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: White Deer Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Blodgett was born January 17, 1925 in Wilson, Carter County, Oklahoma. He was a 1942 graduate of Pampa High School, and was in the first graduating class in the new high school building. He married Jeri Bentley on August 17, 1973. Together they created a team of faithful White Deer Buck & Doe, and WTAMU supporters. He farmed for 60 years in White Deer, and in 1997, was named "Carson County Farmer of the Year." He was very active in the community, serving on the City of White Deer City Council, the White Deer Cemetery Board, the Board of the Panhandle Water Conservation and the Carson County Appraisal District Board. He also served on the White Deer Fire Department, was a member of the Lions Club and a member of the Farm Service Agency. He was the recipient of an Honorary Chapter FFA Future Farmers Degree. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of White Deer. Along with all his other endeavors to the community, he was the one who brought the first water tower to White Deer. It took him 3 days to bring the tower to White Deer from Waterproof, Louisiana. He enjoyed traveling and will be greatly remembered by family and friends.SURVIVORS: Wife: Jeri Blodgett of the home. 2 Daughters: Sandra Blodgett and Lisa Petty & husband Wade, all of White Deer. 2 Sons: Bob Blodgett & wife Beth, and Kevin Blodgett & wife Lanya, all of White Deer. 3 Grandsons: Parker Petty, Stephen Cagle and Kyler Blodgett. 8 Granddaughters: Kristi Starts, Traci Blodgett, Amy Blodgett, Suni Jo Petty, Cassie Petty, Kelli Blodgett, Nicki Russell and Ashley Ginn. 4 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Ginn, 4 sisters, Lillie Ford, Nell Tyler, Jane Sadler and Ethyl Blodgett, by a brother, Tracy Garner, and by a grandson, Jeremy Blodgett.
