Jeff Taylor, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Fite was born December 30, 1915 in Pampa, and graduated from Pampa High School in 1934. She married Elmer Fite on August 25, 1934 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1998. She and her husband owned and operated Ostrom and Fite Grocery in Phillips from 1943 until 1954. In 1954, they opened Fite Food Market in Pampa, which they operated for 28 years, retiring in 1981. She had been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pampa since she was 12 years old, and was very active in the UMW. She was active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, and was on the board of the American Red Cross for several years. She was also on the Pampa City Traffic Commission for several years. She belonged to the Pampa Country Club and several local bridge clubs. She was a former member of the Pampa Community Concert Association.SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Marilyn Brown & husband Paul of Edmond, Oklahoma. 1 Son: John Fite of San Diego, California. 1 Sister: Pauline Quible of Abilene. 3 Grandchildren: David Brown of Seattle, Washington, Mark Brown & wife Ivy of Angleton, and Jane Calfy & husband Bryan of Round Rock. 3 Great-Grandsons: Walker Brown and Garrett Brown, both of Angleton, and Connor Calfy of Round Rock.
