SERVICES: 10:00 AM Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Billy T. Jones, minister of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Amarillo, officiating. BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Beighle was born November 21, 1926 in Electra, and graduated from Electra High School. She moved to Skellytown in 1944 from Electra. She married Melvin Gene Beighle on November 23, 1946 in Skellytown. Melvin and Jo made the original gift that founded The Hope & Healing Place, a grief and loss center serving children and families in the Panhandle. In 1989, Jo retired from the Pampa Independent School District as a special education teacher's aide after 20 years of service. She was a previous member of the Westside Church of Christ in Pampa, and the Olsen Park Church of Christ in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin on January 25, 2000, and 2 sisters, Lois Patton Folmar and Ivanette Hewitt.SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Tricia Trimble & husband DeWayne of Amarillo. 1 Son: Wayne Beighle & wife Melanie of Amarillo. 2 Sisters: Bessie Vestal of Iowa Park, and Ozie McClure of Victoria. 1 Brother: George Chesher of Electra. 7 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren.
