Darren Willis, pastor, and Pastor Ben Ceyanes of the New Life Assembly of God, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BURIAL: Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee. BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Echols was born March 17, 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from Texas College in Tyler in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He had been a resident of Pampa for the past 28 years. He married Matrilyn Brown on December 22, 1980 in Memphis, Tennessee. He worked as an operator for Cabot Corporation for 28 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and the Texas College Alumni. SURVIVORS: Wife: Matrilyn Echols of the home. 1 Daughter: Courtney Echols of the home. 1 Son: Marlon Echols of the home. 2 Sisters: Evelyn Davis and Betty Echols, both of Memphis, Tennessee. 3 Brothers: J. D. Echols of Chicago, Illinois, Thomas Echols, Jr., of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Charles Echols of Memphis, Tennessee.Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
