SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 10, 2007, at the Miami Cemetery, with Mr. Bill Burkholder, lay minister, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Murphy was born July 13, 1936 in Runnels County, Texas. He was reared in Miami, graduating from Miami High School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He worked as a cowboy and heavy equipment operator until his recent retirement.SURVIVORS: 2 Sons: Frank Murphy & wife Sylvia of Corpus Christi and Jimmy Murphy of Winters. 1 Daughter: Melody Kerley & husband Rick of Moody, Missouri. Mother: Vera Murphy of Miami. 4 Grandchildren: Ryan Murphy and Kathy Murphy, both of Corpus Christi, Kimberly Kerley and Kaylee Kerley, both of Moody, Missouri. 1 Brother: Deverl Murphy & wife Kathy of Pampa. 2 Sisters: Dorothy Guinn & husband Jerry of Pampa, and Marilyn Martin & husband Jim of Rapid City, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his father, A. K. Murphy, and a sister, Juanel Murphy. Memorials may be made to the Roberts County 4-H, P.O. Box 478, Miami, Texas 79059, or a favorite charity.
