SERVICES: 10:00 AM Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with John Curry, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview CemeteryBIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Lively was born Feb. 25, 1922 in the shadow of Nichols Mesa at La Garita, San Miguel County, New Mexico to Allene Nichols Tipton, La Garita postmistress, and Stuart B. Tipton, foreman of Tipton Ranch. Elaine attended elementary school in Amarillo and Austin, where she graduated from Austin High School in 1938. In 1940, she moved to Pampa as the Area Secretary for the Texas Department of Public Welfare. On April 20, 1942 she married Aviation Cadet Travis C. Lively, Jr. in Corsicana. She was a legal secretary for A. J. Carubbi and John Warner and later served as secretary for the Gray County Attorney. In the 1970's, she and her husband bought his father's half of Pampa Hardware Company, and in 1998, they opened Top of Texas Awards and Gifts. Elaine was a member of First Methodist Church in Pampa since 1942 and was a member of various PTAs, Beta Sigma Phi, and the Panhandle Chapter of TROA. She became a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International and volunteered for several years for UNICEF, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, American Torch Society, and St. Jude's Children's Hospital. She also volunteered for several years for her family friend, Governor Allan Shivers. She was preceded in death by her precious daughter, Carol Jean Lively and her beloved dancing partner, Travis Coy Lively, Jr.SURVIVORS: a daughter: Janis Lynn Lively of Pampa; a son: Clay Lively and wife Mary McGuire Lively of Round Rock; 4 grandchildren: Michael Lively and wife Karen Kindley Lively, MD of Edmond, OK; Jennifer Lively of Amarillo; Courtney Carter and husband Augustus Trautweiler of Osceola, MO; and Fitz-John "Andrew" Davis and wife Devin Holcombe Davis of San Antonio; 4 great grandchildren: Megan, Rebecca, Julia, and Adelia; and a brother-in-law: Lamar Lively of Amarillo.MEMORIALS: Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, 600 SW 11th Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101.
