SERVICES: 10:00 AM Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Dr. Johnny Funderburg, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday at Durham Cemetery in Durham, Oklahoma.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. White was born March 10, 1924 in Romney, Texas. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1936. He was a graduate of Pampa High School in 1941, and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1949 with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering. After college, he worked on the Hungry Horse Dam Project in Montana. He married Betty Jean Edgington on October 1, 1955 at the Magnolia Baptist Church in Crawford, Oklahoma. He was a registered Texas Professional Engineer and a member of numerous professional organizations. He retired from Celanese in 1985 as a project engineer after 32 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served on numerous church committees, including the building committee for the west education building. He was chairman of the deacons, a Sunday school teacher, served as president of the Baptist men, and went on a crusade to Brazil. He enjoyed spending time on the family farm in Crawford, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corps, serving from 1942 to 1945. SURVIVORS: Wife: Betty White of the home. 1 Son: Paul Mark White of Pampa. 1 Daughter: Betty Katherine Amerson & husband Rick of Los Altos, California, and several other relatives and friends.
