Army personnel from Fort Hood, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Hawkins was born December 3, 1921 in LaBelle Missouri, to William Francis & Zula Hawkins. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1927. He married Mary Ann Speed on April 7, 1946 in Pampa. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2002, after 55 years of marriage. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during World War II in Sicily and Italy. He enlisted in the National Guard shortly after returning from overseas and served his country for another 26 years. He retired from the service in 1981 as a Master Sgt. with a total of 32 years. After the war, he returned to Pampa and was a partner with his father and two brothers in a business known as Hawkins Radio Lab, from which he retired in 1984. He was a member of the First Christian Church. He was a member of the Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 AF & AM and the Scottish Rite Consistory of El Paso. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was a life member of the VFW. He was a ham operator with the call sign W51VP. He loved to fish, play golf, bowl, and was an avid square and round dancer with his wife Mary Ann for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother. SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Jean Ann DuBowik & husband Joe of Pampa. 1 Son: Stephen Dale Hawkins & wife Gloria of Pampa. 1 Brother: Red Hawkins & wife Maxine of Pampa. 3 Sisters: Joann Enloe of Anaheim, California, Mardelle Gamblin & husband George of Pampa, and Mary Ellen Claunch & husband Forrest of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 5 Grandchildren, 6 Great-Grandchildren.MEMORIALS: First Christian Church, 1633 N.
