SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Barry Owens, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Wood was born on January 18, 1929 at 215 W. Craven St. in Pampa and attended Pampa schools. She married O. E. Peacock on July 26, 1946 in Pampa. He preceded her in death in 1971. She later married Dock Wood on Dec. 20, 1979 in Wheeler, and he also preceded her in death. She was a cashier at the Capri, LaVista, and Lanora Theaters and worked at Furr's and Jackson's Cafeterias. She also worked as a night dispatcher for the Yellow Cab Company. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved to cook, crochet, attend family gatherings, and go to church. She was extremely proud of her family and loved them very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lona Dittmeyer; 2 sons, Charles R. Peacock and Orval Peacock; a brother, Robert Cecil Dittmeyer; a sister, Martha Hilton, and a grandson, Doug Winkleblack.SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Linda Winkleblack and husband Wendel of Pampa, and Rhonda Strnad of Ft. Morgan, CO; 1 sister: Geneva Barton of Pampa; 4 grandsons: J R "Junior" Winkleblack of Pampa; Russell Strnad of Raton, NM; Zachary Strnad of Ft. Morgan, CO; and LeRoy Evans of Woodward, OK; 4 granddaughters: Wendy Henderson and Kelly Mayberry, both of Pampa; Cathy Peacock-Potts of Joplin, MO; and Elizabeth Strnad of Ft. Morgan, CO; 2 step granddaughters: Jessica Murphy and Tracey D.
