SERVICES: 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at St. Mark's CME Church, with Rev. Raymond McKever, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Griffin was born February 28, 1906 in Hartman, Louisiana. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1945. He was employed by the City of Pampa Sanitation Department for 25 years, retiring in 1970. He was a founder and Trustee of St. Marks' CME Church and president of the lay ministries. He was a volunteer with the Kairos Christian ministry services for inmates of the Jordan and Baten prison units. He was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Good Samaritan Christian Services and Southside Senior Citizens. He was a member of the VFW.SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Versie Littlejohn of Chicago. 2 Granddaughter: Lanette and husband Robert of Chicago, and Peaches of Macon, Georgia. 3 Grandsons: Ronald of Chicago, Wyvon III and George both of Macon, Georgia. Special Friends: Mauri Johnson and JoAnn Scott, both of Pampa, along with his church family. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, 2 sisters and 5 brothers.
