SERVICES: Memorial graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, October 30, 2006, at Fairview Cemetery, with Bob Thomas, Odyssey Hospice chaplain of Amarillo, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Jinks was born July 17, 1923 in Burkburnett. He attended Pampa schools. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy Seabees, serving during World War II. The assignment as a heavy equipment operator while in the Navy trained him for his lifetime profession. He married Betty Jean Payne on October 21, 1944 at Oxnard, California. He had been a resident of Lefors from 1948 until 1961, working for F. E. Bull Heavy Equipment Contractor. Upon moving to Pampa in 1961, he worked for H. G. Padgett Construction for many years. He was a member of the VFW Post 1657. Upon his retirement, he discovered a gift for growing flowers and gardening. Although he suffered from Alzheimer's disease in his later years, his family had special time to care for him. He will be greatly missed, especially the twinkle in his clear, brown eyes, and his beautiful smile. Any man can be a father, but it takes a special man to be a dad. Any man can be a grandfather, but it takes a special man to be a poppie. We are blessed as a family to have two special men as one. We love you, dad and poppie.SURVIVORS: 2 Daughters: Mary D.
