SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, in the Garden of Beatitudes at Westlawn Memorial Park in Borger with Rev. Don Boren, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Borger, officiating. Memorial services will be at 2:30 PM Tuesday at Park Place Towers in Amarillo with Rev. Marty Hamrick, associate pastor of Polk Street United Methodist Church, and David Fraser and Lee Allen Jarrell, both great nephews, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Weston was born May 29, 1910 in Newlin, Texas to Sarah Adeline Long Jarrell and Dennis Marvin Jarrell, and she was the second of five children. After a successful academic career, she began teaching in Collingsworth County in 1928. Mrs. Weston continued her education, earning her teaching certification from West Texas State College in 1937. From 1937 through 1947, she taught at Sam Houston Elementary School in Pampa. After marrying D. Russell Weston in 1947, she moved to Phillips and taught at Phillips Elementary School until her retirement. For 46 years, Mrs. Weston taught hundreds of first and second graders whose lives have been enhanced by her love for each child and her exceptional teaching. Mrs. Weston was a member of Texas Retired Teachers Association, Beta Sigma Phi, and the United Methodist Women.In 1995, the Westons moved to Park Place Towers in Amarillo. After their retirements, she and her husband found great pleasure traveling extensively throughout Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States. Mrs. Weston was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell, by two brothers, Raymond Jarrell and Jack Jarrell, by a sister, Almeda Fraser, a nephew, John Jarrell, and a niece, Nicki Lyon. Her surviving family members and friends will miss Wilma beyond measure. She loved us all unconditionally and forgave us before we knew we needed forgiveness. Wilma was the consummate aunt, godmother, and friend. She was a blessing to all who knew her.SURVIVORS: Sister: June Jarrell Atkins; 6 nieces: Linda Chilton, Anne Patin, Stephanie Stanley, Nancy Atkins, Sammie Jarrell, and Janis Parsons; 2 nephews: Lee Fraser and Bill Fraser; and a goddaughter, Laura Skalak.Honorary pallbearers include Bill Fraser, Lee Fraser, Mike Fraser, Fabian Patin, Mike Skalak, Lester Wiles, and Ron Parsons.MEMORIALS: BSA Hospice, P.
