He married Fay Kissinger on November 6, 1998 in Amarillo. He was an avid sports fan and collected NASCAR memorabilia. He loved garage sales and flea markets. He enjoyed playing pool. SURVIVORS: Wife: Fay Thayer of the home. 1 Son: Michael Rose of Charlotte, Michigan. 3 Daughters: Sabrina Sanchez of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Lisa Clear of Battle Creek, Michigan, and Elizabeth Rose of Charlotte, Michigan. 3 Brothers: Jimmy Essary, Bill Essary and Tommy Joe Essary, all of Battle Creek, Michigan. 2 Sisters: Willene Fike and Glenda Sue Spears, both of Battle Creek, Michigan. 15 Grandchildren.
