Ben Ceyanes, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Ely was born Sept. 27, 1933 in Garber, Oklahoma to Miles Monroe Ely and Lola B. Robison Ely. He moved with his family to Pampa in October of 1943. He began serving the Lord as a young man, becoming a Christian at the age of 13. Mr. Ely graduated from Pampa High School in 1952 and received his teaching degree from West Texas State University in 1957. After serving two years in the U. S. Army, he returned to Pampa in 1959 to teach in the Pampa Independent School District. On July 14, 1963, he married Annette Altman in Pampa. Mr. Ely taught arts and crafts in the Pampa schools for many years, and he enjoyed oil painting and woodworking. He retired from the school district in May of 1990. He attended the New Life Assembly of God. After retiring, he enjoyed working in his vegetable garden. He was preceded in death by his parents.SURVIVORS: Wife: Annette Ely of the home; a daughter, Karen Linder and husband Dean of Pampa; a son, Chris Ely of Amarillo; a sister, Norma Hensley and husband Addie of Pampa; 2 grandchildren: Michelle Linder and Ty Linder, both of Pampa, and many nieces and nephews.MEMORIALS: New Life Assembly of God, P.
