Linda Kelly, rector, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Dr. Frank W. Kelley, physician and surgeon, was born November 25, 1908 in Dallas and was reared in Miami, graduating from Miami High School in 1926. He moved with his parents from Miami to Pampa in 1929 while attending Texas Tech University. He was a member of the second class to enter what was then Texas Technological College in September of 1926. He received his M. D. degree from Baylor Medical School in 1938. Dr. Kelley interned at St. Paul's Hospital in Dallas, then practiced with the Samuel Clinic in Dallas for one year. He married Mary Ann Moyar in 1939 before returning to practice medicine with his father, Dr. J. H. Kelley, a pioneer doctor in Miami and Pampa. With his father, he built the Kelley Clinic in 1950, and he practiced there with Dr. Raymond Laycock in what became the Kelley-Laycock Clinic.During World War II, Dr. Kelley served as an Army Air Corps flight surgeon, returning to Pampa after the war to practice medicine until his retirement in 1988 at the age of 80. In 1968, he was accepted into the International College of Surgeons. In 1979, he was given honorary membership in the Texas Medical Association, and at the time of his retirement, was one of its oldest living members. He was also a member of the American Medical Association, the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons, the Southern Medical Association, and he was a past president of both the Top O' Texas Medical Society and the Gray-Wheeler Medical Association. Dr. Kelley was a past chief-of-staff of Highland General Hospital in Pampa and was a member of Texas Athletic Team Physicians, assisting with the Pampa Harvester Football Team. He was a longtime member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pampa.Dr. Kelley's wife of 62 years, Mary Ann, passed away in 2002, and he moved to Fredericksburg to be near his oldest daughter. There he remained active and enjoyed his favorite pastime of watching golf and football, especially the Texas Tech Red Raiders.SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Dr. Mary Ann Wyss of Fredericksburg and Patsy Smith of Mancos, Colorado; 1 son: Frank W. Kelley, Jr. of Houston; 7 grandchildren: Matthew Kelley, Brett Schakel, Shannon Schakel Ullmann, Brandon Schakel, Wyatt Smith, Kelley Smith, and Clayton Smith; and 3 great grandchildren: Noah Schakel, Mary Ann Schakel, and Ryan Kelley. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Lou Schakel, in 2004.SPECIAL NOTICE: The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.MEMORIALS: St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 727 W.
