SERVICES: 4:00 PM Thursday, July 13, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Miami, with Rev. Mindy McLanahan, pastor, and Mr. John Curry, officiating. BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 15, 2006, at the Nelson Family Cemetery in St. Joseph, Missouri under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home of St. Joseph. Local arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Harvey was born July 30, 1913 in St. Jo, Montague County, Texas. After moving to New Hope, Texas in 1920, he attended elementary school, and graduated from Lubbock High School in 1930. He married Catherine Virginia Nelson of Pampa in 1930 and they began a life of farming in Farwell, Texas. In 1944 they moved to Gray County to farm the Harry Nelson land east of Pampa. As Farm Bureau "Farmer of the Year" in 1970, he was involved in raising crops of wheat and milo. He was a member and trustee of the First United Methodist Church of Miami. He enjoyed his family, music, traveling, photography, designing metal sculpture, woodworking, fishing and growing tomatoes. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia in 2004, his parents, Annie & Drury Harvey of Clovis, New Mexico, and a brother, Ernest Harvey of Clovis, New Mexico. SURVIVORS: 4 Children: Jeannine Johnson & husband Bobby of Houston, Mary Ann McIlvain & husband E. J. of Victoria, Lloyd Harvey & wife Kay of Pampa, and Drew Harvey & wife Paula of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 1 Brother: E. D. Harvey of Clovis, New Mexico. 7 Grandchildren: Whitney Young of Houston, Vonda Hellner & husband Todd of League City, Meredith Phillips & husband Brent of Waco, Rankin Harvey & wife Jennifer of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Angela Overman & husband Clark of Dallas, Tyson Harvey of Burlington, Vermont, and Allyson Harvey of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 5 Great-Grandchildren: Anderson Phillips & Keyson Phillips, both of Waco, Victoria Hellner, Ava Hellner and Andrew Hellner, all of League City.MEMORIALS: First United Methodist Church, 201 S.
