SERVICES: 10:00 AM Thursday, July 6, 2006, at the United Methodist Church of White Deer, with Rev. Alan Wilson, pastor of the First Baptist Church of White Deer, officiating.BURIAL: White Deer Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Nicholson was born November 8, 1923 in Kingsmill, he had been a resident of White Deer most of his life. He married Betty Jo Punches on November 25, 2003. He farmed in the White Deer area for 25 years, was the owner and operator of the Green Punkin Restaurant for 15 years, and was the owner of Honest Don's for 10 years. He was the founder of the White Deer Senior Citizens Center and C.E.O. for 21 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during World War II. SURVIVORS: Wife Betty Jo Nicholson of the home. 1 Daughter: Nicki Maples & husband Keith of Amarillo. 1 Son: Brent Jay Nicholson & wife Pam of Dallas. 3 Step-Daughters: Kristi Punches of Denver, Colorado, Dolly Cowan and husband Danny of Panhandle, and Sandra Davis & husband Danny of White Deer. 2 Step-Sons: Darrell Kanaga and wife Linda of Bethany, Oklahoma and G. W. Punches & companion Diane Stackpole of Denton. 2 Sisters: Roberta Williams of White Deer and Florine Gatlin of Amarillo. 1 Brother: Leon Nicholson of Amarillo. 2 Granddaughters: Keitha Maples and Kaci Maples, 10 Step-Grandchildren, 2 Step-Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Nicholson, on July 4, 2003. MEMORIALS: White Deer Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 744, White Deer, Texas 79097.
