She has been a lifelong resident of Pampa where she graduated from Pampa High School in 1993. She received a B. S. degree in sociology and a minor in criminal justice at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1998. She was employed as a social worker at CPS from 2000-2003. She currently employed at the Baten Unit where she was a parole officer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and of environmental organizations.
