SERVICES: 10:00 AM Saturday, June 17, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in McLean, with Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor of the Central Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating.BURIAL: Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Simpson was born June 27, 1918 in Wellington. His family moved to McLean in 1920. He married Martha LaVicia on March 3, 1940 in Sayre, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in 1992. He moved to Amarillo in 1946 and then to Pampa in 1958. He owned and operated the Skelly Service Station for 28 years. He later worked at Utility Oil from 1986 until 2000 when he moved to Wichita Falls. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pampa. He loved to cook and was a chef during his time in Amarillo. SURVIVORS: 1 Son: James Roy Simpson & wife Linda of Wichita Falls. 1 Sister: Jeanette Kennedy & husband W. C. of Pampa. 4 Brothers: Edward Simpson & wife Helen of Purcell, Oklahoma, Kenneth Ross Simpson & wife Bonnie of Hobbs, New Mexico, Frank Simpson and W. C. Simpson & wife Rae, all of McLean. 2 Grandchildren: Stephanie Childs & husband Sam of Austin, and Deborah Ross & husband Brett of Wichita Falls.
