SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with John Curry, officiating. Graveside services will be held in Highland Cemetery in Thornton, Colorado at a later date. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Joan Harriet Stroup was born May 10, 1932 in Lefors. She was a 1950 graduate of Pampa High School and attended Southern Methodist University and Texas Tech University where she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She married Jim Brown on October 26, 1996 in Denver, Colorado. She was a 25-year employee of Bailey, Banks & Biddle, a division of Zale Corporation, and achieved the position of store manager, retiring in 1997. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pampa, the 20th Century Cotillion Club, and volunteered at the Good Samaritan Christian Services. SURVIVORS: Husband: Jim Brown of the home. 1 Daughter: Jaime Westcott & husband Jay of Denver, Colorado. 1 Son: Terry English & wife Lisa of Carmichael, California. 5 Grandchildren: Claire Westcott and J. J. Westcott, both of Denver, Colorado, Candice English, Alex English and Angela English, all of Sacramento, California. 1 Niece: Jowannah Ellis of Santa Fe, New Mexico. 1 Nephew: John English of Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her parents, James G. & Jessye Stroup, 3 brothers, Jim Stroup, Jack Stroup & Jerry Stroup, and her first husband Leon English. MEMORIALS: BSA Hospice, 800 N.
