Burt, retired Baptist minister, officiating.BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 2:30 PM Thursday, March 30, 2006, at the Prairie Dell Cemetery in Hemphill County, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Chumbley was born on Sept. 23, 1934 in Canadian. He married Reta Beth Cook on April 28, 1956 in Hemphill County. He worked for Halliburton for 21 years, working for five years in Alaska and several weeks in Oman in the Middle East. He was a cross country truck driver for 10 years, and he loved being behind the wheel of a truck. But most of all, he was a very thoughtful, loving husband, dad, and grandparent. He was very grateful to the Lord for what he had been allowed to be a part of in life. He loved to fish, not so much to catch fish but the calm of being outdoors and visiting with fellow fishermen. He was a member of Barrett Baptist Church which later became Cornerstone Baptist Church, and he was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was preceded in death by sister, Myrtle Mae Ortega, on Oct. 14, 1994.SURVIVORS: Wife: Reta Chumbley of the home; 2 sons: Terry Wayne Chumbley and wife Dana and Todd Allen Chumbley, all of Pampa; a daughter, Deena Gayle Hart and husband Jim of Pampa; mother, Doris Chumbley of Canadian; a brother, Billy D. Chumbley of Canyon; a sister, LoEtta Killgore of Kingman, AZ; 7 granddaughters: Traci Wood of Lakenheath, England; Tara Terry of Modesto, CA; Kira Chumbley and Tori Chumbley, both of Lubbock; Annie Chumbley of College Station; Emily Hart and Kaitlyn Hart, both of Pampa; 2 grandsons: Chase Chumbley and Cole Chumbley, both of Lubbock; 2 great granddaughters: Ashley Wood and Gracie Wood, both of Lakenheath, England.MEMORIALS: BSA Hospice, 800 N.
