SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. C. W. Parker, chaplain of Odyssey Healthcare, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Bowers was born on Dec. 13, 1919 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Frank and Rella Mae Bowers. He moved to Lefors and finally to Pampa, where he graduated from Pampa High School in 1938. He served for 4 years in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was employed by Buss Baldridge and Sam Anisman (owner of S & M Oil) for many years.In 1948, he married Violet Lucille Barton, and they were former members of the Zion Lutheran Church. Mrs. Bowers preceded him in death in 1996.SURVIVORS: 4 stepchildren and many stepgrandchildren including Lana Blocker of Pampa, who was the eldest grandchild remaining closest to him;He also had many step great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren.MEMORIALS: Veteran's Administration, 6010 Amarillo Blvd. West, Amarillo, TX 79106.
