SERVICES: 11:00 AM Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006 at Washington Avenue Christian Church in Amarillo with Jim Shelburne, minister, officiating.BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. McDonald was born on June 27, 1929 in Megargel, Texas to Herbert D. and Iris B. Cox. She graduated from Lefors High School and attended Frank Phillips College, Amarillo College, and West Texas State University. She transferred to Amarillo from Pampa with Southwestern Bell Telephone where she retired. She was also employed at First National Bank of Pampa and Gordon, Gordon, and Buzzard Law Firm. Mrs. McDonald was a member of the Pilot Club of Amarillo where she served as treasurer and president. She was involved with mental health services and served on the National Alliance for Mental Health board for 2 years. She also served as librarian at the MHMR facility. She was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church where she taught the Homebuilders Sunday School Class until she became ill. She loved her Lord and tried to serve him in community service. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Kenneth D. Cox and Charles H. Cox, and by her first husband, Onnie N. Lofton.SURVIVORS: Husband: Richard E. McDonald of Amarillo; 2 sons: Johnny N. Lofton and D. D. Lofton and wife Kerry, all of Pampa; a sister: Dorothy Gallimore of Pampa; a stepson: James McDonald and wife Carol of Midland; stepdaughter: Marcia Stubbs of Baton Rouge, LA; 4 granddaughters: Lori Gale Gwaltney and husband Ryan of Opp, Alabama; Michelle Smith and husband Billy of Auburn, Alabama; Erin Matthew of Midland and Stephennie Batts of Baton Rouge; 2 grandsons: Chris McDonald of Midland and Neil McDonald of Amarillo; 7 great grandchildren; special niece, Beverly Snider, of Pampa; and a special friend, Flora Lee Taylor, of Amarillo.MEMORIALS: BSA Hospice, P.
