SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Pampa with Dr. Johnny Funderburg, pastor, Rev. Danny Trussell, pastor of River of Life Church in Skellytown, and Nancy Ruff, commissioned lay pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Gordy was born on June 2, 1929 in Haskell County, Texas. He resided in Pampa from 1948-1979 when he moved to Skellytown. He married Donna Cornelison on June 7, 1979 in Skellytown. He worked for Celanese Chemical Co. for 20 years and was owner and operator of R. L. Gordy Trucking Co. from 1971 to the present. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pampa.SURVIVORS: Wife: Donna Gordy of the home; 2 daughters: Bruce Ann Gordy of White Deer and Mona Gordy of Mobeetie; 1 son: Richard Gordy of McLean; 1 sister: Lucille Moore of Amarillo; 3 stepchildren: Michelle Duvall of Amarillo and Troyce Reeves and Stacy Wells, both of Skellytown;5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 10 stepgrandchildren.
