James Earl Lewis

SERVICES: 2:00 PM Monday, January 9, 2006, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with Rev. C. Lane Boyd, pastor of the Polk Street United Methodist Church of Amarillo, officiating. BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Lewis was born July 25, 1910 in Pampa, to Earl & Bertha Lewis. He married Bessie Warren on May 9, 1936 in Pampa. She preceded him in death on June 11, 1993. He owned and operated various service stations and the Buffeteria in Pampa for many years. During World War II, he served in a defense job at Douglas Aircraft in California. He was a caring, loving, Christian family man and will be missed by all.SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Janie L. Jones of Amarillo. 2 Sons: Grover Lewis of Dallas and Pete Lewis of Lubbock. 1 Brother: Clifford Lewis of Pampa. 9 Grandchildren: Mike, Mark, Lisa, Robert, Sean, Kellie, Angie, Pete and Lari. 11 Great-Grandchildren: Michael, Melissa, Megan, Jamie, Kerry, Kasey, Katee, T. J., Jared, Caitlyn and Max. 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren: Caysi, Austen and Gavin. MEMORIALS: to the TV Ministry, c/o Polk Street United Methodist Church, 1401 Polk Street, Amarillo, Texas 79101.
