SERVICES: 2:00 PM Friday, December 23, 2005, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Doug DuBose, retired Baptist minister, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Holt was born April 3, 1923 in Davidson, Oklahoma. His family moved to Caddo Mills in 1934, and he attended school in Josephine. He joined the U. S. Army Air Force on October 17, 1942, and served for 3 years. He married Martha Brummett in 1945 at San Marcos, and returning from the service, they made their home in Pampa in 1946. He worked for Cabot Carbon Black for 39 years at the Pampa plant, serving as foreman and later safety man. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Sonshiners and the Sonshine Club. He was a longtime member of the Pampa Odd Fellow Lodge #934, serving as Noble Grand and District Deputy Grand Master, and was a member of the Pampa Rebekah Lodge #355. He was a volunteer for the Top O' Texas and Quivira Girl Scout Councils, helping with the day and troop camps. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Pearl Holt, and 3 brothers, Tommy Holt, Weldon Holt and George V. Holt.SURVIVORS: Wife: Martha Holt of the home. 2 Daughters: Nancy Kay Cates & husband Phil of Dripping Springs, and Barbara Ann Holt of Pampa. 2 Grandsons: Andrew Cates of Dripping Springs, and John David Cates & wife Ruth of Austin. 5 Sisters: Lydia Castle of Greenville, Loma Wilson & husband Bob of Dallas, Sue Cupp & husband James of San Antonio, Mary Hamil & husband Bill of Mesquite, and Patsy Douthit & husband James of Caddo Mills.MEMORIALS: to a favorite charity.
