SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. John Westman, pastor of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Hopkins was born on November 20, 1938 in Pampa and was a 1957 graduate of Pampa High School. He attended West Texas State University. He married Melba Rice on October 12, 1983 in Sayre, OK. He was a salesman in the oil and gas industry for 40 years. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Pampa, a member of Paducah Masonic Lodge, and a former member of Pampa Jaycees. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957-1963. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, and was an avid golfer. SURVIVORS: Wife: Melba Hopkins of Phoenix, AZ. 6 Sons: William Hopkins and wife Laura of Arlington; Steven Hopkins and wife Krista, Cullen Hopkins and wife Melissa, all of Amarillo; Phillip Rice and wife Jan, Paul Rice, and Dean Rice and wife Tonya, all of Phoenix; 1 Brother: J.C. Hopkins and wife Pattye of Marble Falls. 1 Sister: Amalie Mowery and husband Gilbert of Knoxville, TN; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard (Dicky) Hopkins, and by a sister, Billie Jo Jeffers.MEMORIALS: Odyssey Hospice, 1000 S.
