Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Taylor, pastor, officiating. At her request, Mrs. Donaldson's body was donated to Texas Tech School of Medicine. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Donaldson was born on July 19, 1920 in Benton County Indiana and was a 1938 graduate of Boswell High School in Boswell, Indiana. She received a B. S. degree in nursing in 1942 from Indiana University Medical Center where she was head surgical nurse for 5 years. On Feb. 3, 1946, she married Dr. Joe R. Donaldson in Boswell, and they moved to Pampa in 1949. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honorary Nursing Society, the Top O' Texas Medical Society Auxiliary, and the Texas Medical Association Auxiliary. Mrs. Donaldson was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Crusader's Sunday school class, the Winsome Fellowship Class, and United Methodist Women. She was a former member of the Junior Service League and the Twentieth Century Study Club. Mrs. Donaldson was noted for baking hundreds of loaves of homemade bread to give to friends and neighbors throughout the years. Survivors include her husband: Dr. Joe R. Donaldson of the home; 3 daughters: Ann Hoskins and husband Tom of Kingsland, Gail Kincaid and husband Gene of Austin, and Jill Donaldson of Dallas; a son: Richard Donaldson and wife Nancy of Austin; 4 grandchildren: Joe Montgomery and Laura Kincaid, both of Austin, and Uma Donaldson and Prabha Donaldson, both of India; adopted daughter and former foreign exchange student, Evelyn Johnson, of New Zealand. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Laura Johnson, and by a sister, Aldine Sowers. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 1981, Pampa, TX 79066-1981.
