BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Downs was born September 6, 1929 in Randolph County, Alabama. He married Hattie R. Cook on January 10, 1948 in Bowdon, Georgia. She preceded him in death on October 2, 2001. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1951. He was employed by the City of Pampa, was a mechanic at Montgomery Ward, Culberson-Stowers Chevrolet and Pampa Safety Lane. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias.SURVIVORS: 3 Daughters: Shirley Doke of Valrico, Florida, Jean Miller and Sheila Broadbent, both of Pampa. 1 Son: Tommy Downs of Pampa. 9 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren.
