She graduated from North Texas Lab School in Denton and attended North Texas State University. She had been a resident of Pampa from 1948 until 1977 when she moved to Amarillo. She was employed by the Pampa Federal Credit Union, retiring as manager after 15 years of service. She married J. D. Peters on July 3, 1976. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pampa, and was currently a member of the Polk Street United Methodist Church of Amarillo. She was a volunteer for the March of Dimes and RSVP.SURVIVORS: Husband: J. D. Peters of the home. 3 Daughters: Vanessa Buzzard & husband Mark of Pampa, Carol McDonald & husband James of Midland, and Dianne Hewett & husband Carey of Lubbock. 4 Step-daughters: Faricha Lewing & husband Jimmy of Troy, Jennifer Pitts & husband Aubrey of Temple, Dana Dimas & husband Tom of Hockley, and Talynda Mclaren & husband Jeff of Keller. 2 Sisters: Joy Wiley of Lothian, Maryland, and Louise McWilliams of Ft. Meyers, Florida. 1 Brother: Joe Day of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida. 8 Grandchildren, 10 Step-grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
