SERVICES: 2:00 PM Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Claude Cone, retired executive director of the Baptist Convention of New Mexico, Rev. Doug DuBose, retired Baptist minister, and Rev. John Glover, associate pastor of the Field Street Baptist Church of Cleburne, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Watson was born on March 26, 1922 in Sherman, Texas and was a 1939 graduate of Denton High School. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1946. He served in the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II. He married Maxine Loader on June 22, 1946 in Denton, and she preceded him in death on July 25, 2003. Mr. Watson took his first job in banking as bookkeeper for the First State Bank in Denton in 1942. He joined the Texas Department of Banking as assistant examiner in 1944, serving until 1946, when he joined the Citizens Bank and Trust Co. in Pampa as cashier. He remained at Citizens Bank for 12 ½ years, serving as vice-president and executive vice-president. In 1959, he moved to the First National Bank in Pampa as vice-president, became president in 1964, and was elected president and chairman of the board in 1971. He retired in 1995 after 36 years at First National Bank. Mr. Watson served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Bankers Association for 2 years and served on the Regional Advisory Committee of the National Banking Department's Office of the Comptroller of Currency.Floyd was past president of Pampa Rotary Club, Pampa Jaycees, Pampa Chamber of Commerce and Board of City Development, Pampa Independent School District Board of Trustees, Pampa United Way Board, and Pampa Industrial Foundation. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a past chairman of the Deacon Board, was a former Sunday school teacher of senior boys, and was a member of the Everyman's Bible Class. He was one of the original organizers and directors of the Pampa Youth and Community Center, where he served as treasurer for several years.SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Linda Ferguson and husband Clint of Eastland and Beth Duggan and husband John of Glen Rose; a son: Randall F. (Randy) Watson of Pampa; 6 grandchildren: Trey Ferguson and wife Adrienne of Arlington; David Ferguson and wife Holly, and Abby Cobb and husband Beau all of San Antonio; Eric Duggan of Granbury; and Emily Watson and Luke Watson, both of Pampa; a great grandson, Seth Ferguson of Arlington, and a great granddaughter, Maddie Cobb, of San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Pearl Hunsucker Collins and Robert E. Collins, by a brother, Wm. E.
